Therapy Strategies
In addition to traditional articulation/language therapy, augmentative devices , sign language, Visual cues, Boardmaker pictures, Ipad apps, music, functional life skills and social recess groups are implemented to encourage and stimulate each child to achieve their best communication efforts.
A team approach including the classroom teacher, related services ( OT, SpEd, Hearing Itinerant, PT, Social work ) and parent support has proven to be most effective in reaching each child's communication potential. A weekly folder is sent home with Speech students for the parent(s) to review activities with their child that have been presented during the therapy session.
